About the event

Rob Pendergast is a passionate birder and nature enthusiast hailing from Plover, Wisconsin. His journey into birding sparked a fascination with citizen science, igniting his curiosity about the distribution and abundance of birds in Portage County. This curiosity opened the door for Rob to delve into various aspects of local wildlife, winged and otherwise. In recent years, his focus has been on documenting the incredible diversity of local moths, with over 600 species documented to date.

Join us for our October ALAS program as Rob shares with us the fascinating life histories of moths, shedding light on the remarkable adaptations they’ve developed to thrive in their unique environments. He will also guide us through the process of attracting, documenting, identifying, and contributing to citizen science projects of moths in Wisconsin.

ALAS programs for the 2023-24 season will continue to be hybrid with the in-person presentation held at the Lincoln Center (1519 Water St., Stevens Point, Wisconsin) and available to view remotely live via Zoom. Rob’s program will be held on Wednesday, October 18th at 7:00pm. To view via Zoom, register at https://tinyurl.com/2kmpvt4n. Find this link on our website under the Events-Presentations tab.
