Wisconsin 2025 Conservation Congress

Wisconsin's 2025 Conservation Congress spring hearing will take place this coming Monday 4/14. In person hearings will take place in each county at 6:00PM and the online questionnaire can be submitted starting at 7:00PM 4/14 through Wednesday, April 16 at 6:00PM. Question 47 addresses the issue of lead in ammunition and fishing tackle. Which pose a real threat to our environment and the species that inhabit them by introducing a toxic material.

Question 62 would impact Sandhill Cranes by reducing the potential areas they have to feed. Avipel causes temporary digestive distress in birds to deter them from feeding in particular fields. With the current Avian Influenza impacting our Sandhills, now is not the ideal time to further stress the population of the species here in Wisconsin.
